I have been a governor at The Reginald Mitchell Primary School for over 8 years. I played an active part in the PTA for many years and still try where possible to support the fantastic efforts made by the PTA.
Both of my children attended the school which, in part, was one of the reasons I joined the governing body. I am married and have lived in the local area for 25 years.
I am a Regional Logistics and IT manager for Celestica which requires a lot of dedication and travel. I am also a Rotarian and member of the Kidsgrove Town Council planning team for events that are held in the Kidsgrove area.
I have a real drive and commitment to education helping to ensure that our children receive a full and rounded education.

I have been a governor at Reginald Mitchell Primary School since 2009. At present I chair the Curriculum Committee and I am the link governor for Early Years.
My background is in education, working in primary schools. I qualified as a teacher in 1966 and retired in 2008. I have experience of being a governor in primary and secondary schools. Since retirement I have had to give up playing squash due to a hip replacement, taken up bowls and joined a male voice choir. I am happily married and have three grandchildren, two in primary school and one still a toddler.
I believe that it is the role of schools not only to provide pupils with the skills required to reach their highest level of attainment and progress, but also to foster self worth, confidence to meet the challenges that life may bring, and a breadth of interests, beyond just the academic, that they can take with them into adult life.

I have been a governor with The Reginald Mitchell School since 1995. Prior to this I was a senior member of staff at the school from 1977 with responsibility for Maths and IT.
I saw the role of governor as an opportunity to give something back to both the school and the wider community in recognition of the support and encouragement I received to help pupils and staff meet the increasing pressures and changes within education.
I have a good working relationship with both staff and pupils but am not afraid to challenge decisions when needed. Over the years I have served as Vice-Chair of governors and Chair of Finance but I remain open to serve in any capacity required.
I am closely involved in Castle Primary where my granddaughter is a pupil. I continue to serve as an officer with the Newcastle NASUWT, The Staffordshire Retired Association of the NASUWT and treasurer for Castle School PTFA. In my spare time I work in my garden and research my family history.

I have been teaching for about 7 years. I have taught at Reginald Mitchell for the last 6 years in Year One. I am currently in charge of History and Geography in the school and I'm about to take on the role of SENCO. I love working in Early Years and KS1. My main aim is to make sure the children feel happy and safe.
In my spare time, I love ballet and spending time with my children.

As Executive Headteacher, I lead and participate in all full governing body
and committee meetings. I thrive on ensuring all children get the very
best start to their learning journey. As a member of the Governing Body,
it is an absolute privilege to work alongside such a dedicated team of
individuals who give up their time and share a vast array of experience to
lead and sustain the development of our school.

I am very proud to say that I am the Associate Headteacher here at the Reginald Mitchell Primary School. I have been teaching for 15 years, starting my career at Sandon Primary School before moving to Ball Green Primary in 2010.
I enjoy going to the gym, playing football, watching Stoke City and travelling (especially to places with rich history and culture). My secret pleasure is watching the odd musical!

I have worked at Kingsfield First School for over twenty two years. During
this period of time I have taught throughout the school and have taken on
a variety of responsibilities, including being a governor for over a ten year
period. Over recent times I found that I am teaching the children of
pupils, who I have once taught, so yes I am officially one of the more long
standing members of staff!
I have two children, who when I am not at school keep me very busy, even though they are
now teenagers. They both enjoy competitive swimming, live music and art, which has
probably been influenced by my husband who is a swimming coach and once played in a
band. My game is tennis, although I have not played for some time. I also enjoy gardening
but only when the sun shines!
